LITERARY CHRONICLOR
In summer, books have a hard life. Often soaked in sunscreen and filled with sand, they become our companions on the road, in our escape and on our adventures. Here are three suggestions for summer reading whose authors share an interest in kindness and self-realization.

ABOUT
False fights, Reconciling performance and benevolence , by Marc Dutil. Éditions de l'homme, 2021
Marc Dutil is a man with an exceptional career. This “great leader, great reader” speaks to me in particular because he is the founder of the École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce . I was eager to read his book to learn more about him and his way of thinking. An entrepreneur, father, very socially engaged, he speaks to us with frankness. His message is imbued with an original and humanist vision.
President and CEO of Canam Group, he built his work from key moments that helped shape his character and his perception of the world. Whether it is in relation to the role of his company on the societal level, experiences related to his family and children, his studies in the United States or his significant encounters, his anecdotes allow us to discover his values and his authentic way of articulating his thoughts around his learning.
The purpose of this book is not to paint a portrait of his business successes. No. Marc Dutil prefers to talk about changes in our society and the importance of working hand in hand to build a better, more coherent, more open and more community-oriented world. "Life without belonging to real communities would be very sad, meaningless and very short. Isn't the best legacy to leave to our children to pass on to them the conviction that we are stronger together?" he will tell us. A very relevant message in the current context.
Cyber addiction, When the use of technologies becomes a problem , Dr. Marie-Anne Sergerie, Les Éditions La Presse, 2020
Dr. Marie-Anne Sergerie, psychologist, has been interested in the psychological aspects of new technologies in our lives since 1997. She offers us a fascinating exploration into the world of cyber addiction and advice on how to adopt healthy habits related to its use. The pandemic has made us super users of the web, let's admit it. We have integrated new behaviors. Do they hide risks of addiction? The question arises. I wanted to know.
Dr. Sergerie explains it all for us. How do you recognize the symptoms and what strategies should you adopt if necessary? In fact, there are different types of cyberaddiction such as cyberporn, video games and online shopping. Searching for information is one of these categories. Binge-watching series, does that resonate with you? Do you notice any loss of control? This book will be very beneficial for you.
The book is truly fascinating to read and offers plenty of tools and examples of good practices. A very relevant work to become aware of one's own use and to remember the importance of "spending time alone and with oneself", the author tells us. "An opportunity to get in touch with our needs and explore different alternatives to meet them".
DANIELE HENKEL’S SUGGESTION
Ever higher , Lysanne Richard with Myriam Jézéquel, Flammarion Editions, 2021
"I chose this book because, when I met the high-flying diver on the set of the show On va se le dire , I was immediately captivated by her quiet strength and the magnitude of her exploits, which require extraordinary physical and mental strength. Her biography had just been published. I saw an interesting parallel with entrepreneurs who also throw themselves into the void, face the unknown, create and inspire.
In 2014, this mother of three and circus athlete (notably for Cirque du Soleil) decided to devote herself entirely to this extreme sport. A true conqueror, she quickly carved out a place for herself among the best elite divers in the world. Since she was very young, Lysanne has had the fierce desire to go higher and further, as Ginette Reno sings so well. The higher the step, the more she finds the motivation to reach it and triumph.
Her thirst for adrenaline reminds us that fear can become a driving force towards self-improvement. As in the business world, knowledge, calculation and understanding of risk (and in Lysanne's case, danger) lead us to push our limits, but also to protect ourselves and learn. - Danièle Henkel, President DanieleHenkel.tv
