The shops

In shops, customers will be limited to one customer per 20 square metres of floor space. In addition, opening hours for Boxing Day will be extended.

In restaurants, bars, casinos and microbreweries, cinemas, gyms, performance halls and conference halls, the capacity will be reduced to 50% of the usual capacity. Table limits will be 10 people.

In establishments offering personal care, such as hair salons and massage therapy, traffic will be limited through mandatory appointments. In spas, it will now be necessary to present the vaccination passport.

Workplaces

In workplaces, the two-meter distance is reestablished and wearing a mask becomes mandatory at all times. Teleworking is strongly recommended.

Schools

The measures affecting schools also affect parent entrepreneurs. Wearing a mask at all times is once again required, both in class and in common areas. In addition, the return to class after the holiday break has been postponed to January 10 for secondary schools, CEGEPs and universities. The start of the school year at the elementary level is maintained on the date that was already scheduled in the school calendar.

Travels

Business travel needs to be rethought. At the federal level, all non-essential travel outside the country has been declared not recommended, an advisory that will remain in effect for four weeks. The imposition of a quarantine upon return is not excluded.

Accelerated vaccination

Finally, the time required between two doses of vaccines is reduced from 6 to 3 months. The third dose, meanwhile, will be offered to all age groups starting in January. On Monday, people aged 65 to 69 will be able to make an appointment, while those aged 60 to 64 will be able to do so starting December 27.
